PADV(L)INDER is a teaching method based on the Artistic Competence curriculum for part-time art education. Using four different phases within a module, students work mainly independently on a self-chosen competence under one of the five roles of the part time art education curriculum. The four phases are the egg phase: the initial phase in which the knowledge and skills related to a competency are assessed and a course of action is chosen. The caterpillar phase: In this phase, the student independently searches for information and exercises related to the chosen competency. The cocoon phase: Together with the teacher, the student makes a selection from the information and exercises collected by the student. The student then works on this at home until they have mastered it. Finally, the butterfly phase: the student demonstrates/discusses what they have done and learned during the module by means of a mini presentation and self-reflection.

The aim of the method is to enable students to work independently and thus come into contact with all the learning objectives within the curriculum.
