“Green spaces are the lungs of the city.”— Frederick Law Olmsted

Green islands are landscape elements that can be used flexibly in the urban fabric. They can function separately or together form a flowing, temporary landscape. This creates oases of peace, biodiversity and encounters in an otherwise petrified environment.

Subsequently, a network of community gardens activates the public space on the basis of community spirit. By sowing, harvesting and caring for the greenery together, a connection is created between local residents. The gardens encourage co-creation and shared ownership, and make the city a place of cooperation and meeting again.
