For my bachelor project, I was tasked with transforming a former old monastery in the middle of Ghent into a detention house for young people. My goal with this detention house is to give young people a fresh start in a pleasant building.

Next is the name of the detention house. I chose this name because the young people are given a next step in their lives and it is intended to motivate them for a better life outside the detention home.

Because it revolves around being able to function in the community again, I provided a coffee bar / studio where the young people can do something for the neighbourhood.
