Within the academy site, the pavilion emerges as a parasitic structure that settles above the existing circulation routes. What begins as an alternative study path around a busy corridor develops into an elevated intermediate layer that connects studios, courtyards and programmes. The structure introduces a new route through the academy, facilitating both shorter connections between spaces and allowing room for leisurely detours away from the bustle of the studios. Through a series of repetitive staircases and a long, linear walkway, a rhythmic ascent emerges in which movement gives room for reflection. The closed, perforated cladding filters light and sight, creating a tranquil environment for thinking, wandering and chance encounters. At the top, the structure opens up into a shared platform that reconnects the academy with its surroundings and remains usable outside school hours. During the graduation show, the pavilion transforms at two of the four locations into a structure that can open up and be used for multiple purposes during the graduation.
