BarKoer is a welcoming community space created for De Koer in the heart of Brugse Poort. More than a bar, it is designed as an open meeting place where people of all ages, backgrounds and incomes can connect, share experiences and strengthen the local community. The flexible interior layout supports a wide range of activities and allows the space to continuously adapt to the needs of its visitors. While the bar remains a central gathering point, BarKoer can easily transform into a venue for comedy nights, lectures, film screenings, workshops, bingo evenings and other cultural or social events. By creating an accessible and inclusive environment, BarKoer encourages encounters between diverse groups of people and contributes to a vibrant, connected and creative neighbourhood. The space is intended to foster collaboration, dialogue and a sense of belonging within the community. Through culture, hospitality and shared experiences, BarKoer aims to become a lasting social anchor for the Brugse Poort.
