The Bijloke lives.

Every day, students and visitors cross paths here. It is a place where encounters, movement and creativity arise naturally. Within this dynamic context, KASK & Conservatorium provides an environment where artistic development takes centre stage. Yet many spaces within the school remain strikingly confined to a single function or are not being used to their full potential.

Even the corridors currently function mainly as passageways: places where students cross paths, but rarely truly meet. Yet it is precisely there that the potential lies for spontaneous interaction, tranquillity and exchange, both before and after lessons. The need for flexible and versatile spaces is therefore growing ever greater.

SHIFT responds to that need.

The project introduces a transformable space that adapts to its users and to the way they wish to experience the place. A place to work, gather, experiment or simply take a step back from the hustle and bustle.

By focusing on adaptability, an environment is created that can constantly change, just like the dynamics of the Bijloke site itself. SHIFT thus becomes more than a spatial intervention: it becomes a place that connects movement, encounter and creativity.
