Nomietopia is a project that explores how free imagination can lead to original, functional designs. It originated from randomly cut shapes that come together to form new compositions. The functions were determined on the basis of this intuitive approach. The designs were realised using papercrete, allowing the forms to evolve from 2D to 3D. The material combines cement and paper fibres, giving it a unique appearance.

Nomietopia is een project dat onderzoekt hoe vrije verbeelding kan leiden tot originele functionele ontwerpen. Het ontstond vanuit willekeurig gesneden vormen die samen nieuwe composities vormen. Vanuit deze intuïtieve basis werden de functies bepaald. De ontwerpen werden gerealiseerd uit papercrete, waarmee de vormen zich ontwikkelen van 2D naar 3D. Het materiaal combineert cement en papiervezels, wat een unieke uitstraling heeft.
