REFRACT is a transformable pavilion on the Bijloke site that focuses on flexibility, experience and interaction. The project functions as an open exhibition space that can be adapted to various activities such as exhibitions, lectures, meetings and simply as a relaxation area for students.

The space is constructed from sliding panels that constantly create new circulation patterns, sightlines and atmospheres. As a result, the experience changes constantly depending on the layout and the movement of the visitor. Reflective surfaces and mirrors fragment the space and refract perspectives, light and movement. This creates a layered experience in which visitors perceive themselves, others and the surroundings in ever-changing ways.

The metal grid ceiling filters the sunlight and casts dynamic shadows across the floor and walls. Throughout the day, the incidence of light changes constantly, giving the pavilion a different atmosphere at all times. The combination of matt metal structures and reflective elements creates a tension between tranquillity and distortion, openness and fragmentation.

REFRACT is not a static building, but a flexible system that can constantly transform according to its function and the needs of the moment. The pavilion thus becomes a temporary yet vibrant meeting place on the Bijloke site where architecture, exhibition and public interaction merge.
