In my paintings, the combination of objects, reflections, overlaps and multifocal perspectives creates a sense of space. Alongside this sense of space, the focus lies on the nature of the objects themselves, which come to the fore either as portraits or within a specific situation. Through alternating fast and slow brushstrokes, recesses and the use of various types of paint such as industrial lacquer, the diverse or singular objects are imbued with a life of their own: they rotate, are on the move, are animated or are fused with the surface. The direct source for these works are still lifes that I construct from found or gifted objects and prototypes, which are often of an ex-industrial nature and no longer functional.
