I’m tired of the constant claim that youth spend too much time online. It’s a worn refrain, repeated so often it has lost its teeth. I agree, sure, but what exactly am I supposed to do with that?

How do I pull this passive online archive, the one that keeps swelling every single day, back into something real? I scroll through my 200,000+ images, and there’s no way in. No entrance point. It’s an endless desert stretching out without landmarks.

What I do notice, is patterns that quietly reveal me; a fixation on fashion, on wanting to interact with luxurious fabrics, drapings, textures, and the impossibility of fully doing so. Instead keeping them in an overcrowded camera-roll-wardrobe. Each ‘image’ has passed through many hands, knowledge moving from fabric to pattern to storefront to my lens. Life is co-creation and now it’s my turn to play a part in it. The camera holds the moment for a second, but it’s time to set it back into motion.

I abstract my desire, learn craft through it, gather my images and materials and present them to you as accumulations of an unexpressed desire: a collection of objects, prints, and interpretations of a digital trace. An aura. An always unfinished project. A continuous cycle.
