There seems to be a constant changeability running through the works. Nothing is fixed.

Background becomes foreground becomes space between becomes frame becomes form becomes negative becomes volume becomes hollow becomes positive becomes full…

Every form that seems to present itself transforms into something else at the same moment. In relation to each other, all forms exist in a kind of unstable reality. Everything seems to be constantly searching for identity. Nothing can be named as simply that one thing, but is constantly influenced and affected by the presence of other elements.

Nothing exists that does not touch something else. – Jeroen Brouwers

Everything seems to be under this influence, in constant transformation. By bringing this crisis to a head through a play between the balance of figure and background, positive and negative, perspective, double form, and colour, any foothold is lost.

Definition is postponed.

This lack of foothold and the inability to ‘name’ and ‘frame’ serves as the subject of the viewing itself.
