Matthias De Smet

Ter afsluiting van zijn masteropleiding aan het conservatorium, koos Matthias voor een gevarieerd en technisch uitdagend programma. Een reis die vertrekt bij volkse dansen uit de negentiende eeuw en uitmondt in het uiterst rijke kleurenspectrum van de composities van Aleksandr Skrjabin.

Pieterjan Lamon

Ook in het utopische, pastorale landschap van Arcadië heerst de dood. In dit masterrecital is de wrijving tussen de allesbeheersende dood en de onsterfelijkheid van de kunst opvallend en subtiel aanwezig.

De evocatie in Bachs Nun komm’ der Heiden Heiland van de nakende christusgeboorte kondigt ook ineens de kruisdood aan. Liszts Funerailles is het portret van het bloedig neerslaan van de Hongaarse revolutie in 1849. Godfried Devreese wil met een reeks hommages in zijn zesde sonatine de herinnering aan zijn overleden voorgangers levend houden. Dit alles wordt gekaderd in het herderlijke landschap in Beethovens vijftiende sonate.

Aaron Vermassen

Het recital van Aaron bestaat volledig uit romantische werken. Beethoven maakt hier een groot deel van uit met zijn voorlaatste pianosonate op. 110 en het tweede en derde deel van zijn 2^de pianoconcerto. Ook César Franck zorgt voor een grote romantische toets met zijn prélude, fugue et variation. In dit romantisch repertoire kan ook Chopin niet ontbreken met een hele mooie nocturne in do klein.

Matthias De Smet

To end his master’s program at the conservatory, Matthias chose a varied and technically challenging recital. A journey, which starts with folk dances from the 19th century and ends up in the rich and colorful compositions of Aleksander Scriabin.

Pieterjan Lamon

In this master’s recital, the friction between the all-ruling death and the immortality of art is present, both obvious and subtle.

The evocation in Bach’s Nun Komm’ der Heiden Heiland about the impending birth of Christ, also announces the crucifixion. Liszt’s Funerailles is the portrait of the bloody ending of the Hungarian revolution in 1849. With his series of homages in his 6th sonatine, Godfried Devreese wants to keep alive the memory of his fallen predecessors. All of this is framed in the bucolic scenery of Beethoven’s 15th sonate.

Aarons recital consists entirely of romantic pieces. Beethoven is a big part of that, with his next to last pianosonata op. 110 and the second and third movement of his 2nd pianoconcerto. César Franck also leaves a big romantic impression with his prélude, fugue et variation. Of course, Chopin is not to be left out of this romantic repertoire, with a beautiful nocturne in c minor.
