Performative typography: an approach in which typography emerges from the body. Within this research, I explore how bodily gestures, rhythms and experiences shape design, and how typography can become a carrier of emotion, memory and narrative. Reading, looking and interpreting never happen in a completely neutral way. They emerge through personal and cultural frames of reference that differ from person to person. The body plays a central role in this process. It stores experiences, associations and sensitivities, and influences both how we perceive and how we make. From this perspective, I approach typography as a container of bodily traces, where the presence of the maker remains visible through choices, movements, imperfections and intuitive gestures. My practice moves between typography, material and observation, searching for ways in which design can make this bodily presence tangible rather than concealing it.
