For my bachelor project, I went in search of the traces of the Zwette Jean, a former steam tram that made its way through the Dijle landscape. What was once a functional connection now forms the basis for a new landscape route where nature, heritage and recreation come together. The design starts from the existing route, strengthens the relationship with the surrounding landscape and provides space for encounters, rest and experience. By working at three strategic nodes along the trajectory, the past regains meaning.

In this way, the Zwette Jean becomes more than a route, it becomes an experience!
