My father is a construction worker with his own construction company. As a child, I often had to go to construction sites, sometimes to watch, sometimes to help. That world fascinates me, but at the same time I feel strange and out of place, as if I don’t belong there. Perhaps that fascination stems from an attempt to understand my father better?

With this project, I want to try to build our bond by making things together. Materials from the construction world are used in our project: bricks to show a film, concrete that is poured into a bed, a concrete mixer in which hair is processed…

All these materials are used, but also manipulated to create something new. A new story—a story about my father and me—that I want to share with the audience. In this way, we are building a new future together, a new narrative in which we can both recognize ourselves.
