My work stems from a deep connection with nature, which I use as a metaphor to explore and depict mental well-being. My Catholic upbringing often serves as a starting point, not as dogma but as a source of symbolism and ritual. I couldn’t be a visual artist without being a musician, and vice versa. Without classical musical training or knowledge of music theory, I develop alternative forms of notation – visual and graphic – that make music visually tangible. My focus is on improvisation: the moment of creation without a preconceived plan, in which intuition and expression come together. Contrasts such as sun and moon, light and dark, are not opposites for me, but complementary forces that generate meaning together. They form the basis for a visual search for balance, both in my work and in life.
