Dearest,

In my practice, I view pattern cutting as parallel for writing a letter. Carefully constructing a story for you to read. A study in which I develop potential for shape and form, working with rectangular shapes that, through cuts, folds and inserts transform flat surfaces into dimensional garments. I lead with experiment, reviewing during the making process which way to go next. In doing so, I question where a garment begins and where it ends,  creating a tension that becomes tangible when worn.

This exploration reflects my attention to the simplicity of intent. A small intervention creating a large impact. Intentional marks, such as repetition of tiny cuts and hand stitches, function as a visual language. The interventions follow the rhythm of writing. Correcting mistakes, changing your mind, crossing out a word, and continuing to write.

In dialogue with its shape, the garments become letters addressed to the wearer, opening a dialogue with the ones who look and wear.

My methods act as a carrier of intention and time. Each piece a trace of making, holding a story embedded in the material itself. It becomes a carrier of soul, where maker, wearer, and object merge into one.
