This current body of work focuses on the feeling of home. Steering away from domesticity, the pieces center the feelings of safety, ease and warmth that, in their own individual ways, are shared when recalling the meaning of ‘home’. This universal individuality is precisely the spot strived for.

The choice of collages is a deliberate one: the use of existing textiles means that each fabric can add their own identity into the mix, hinting at an intimate awareness one might recognize. This aura is expanded into the process, where the main idea is not evoking nostalgia nor to depict an exact copy, but to awaken a feeling. From initial photograph turned into a sketch with details and context purposefully left behind, I then build the final pieces.
