Through textile, I explored the notion of the envelope as a protective and transformative layer. The idea of wrapping as a gesture of care. Over time, I came to understand that covering is not merely about concealment; it is about attention, intimacy, and protection. It is an act of transformation, where new narratives emerge through the layering of materials.
Adding a textile layer to an object redefines it. These layers act like clothing, dressing objects in a second skin. The fabric molds itself to every edge and curve, creating a soft shell that both hides and highlights. The gesture is both tender and assertive. It protects, conceals, and simultaneously reveals. Wrapping mundane, everyday items gives them a new presence and purpose. Their original function is veiled beneath fabric, offering them a new shape, a new story.
Textiles, in this work, become tools for shifting meaning. By removing objects from their usual context, I invite a new gaze. Each layer acts like a cocoon, a blanket, or a garment.
