Six Scores for Visual Contemplation is a participatory installation that explores the formation of viewing habits. Visitors are invited to perform six observation “scores” in any order. The installation consists of a viewing platform and a set of textual instructions that encourage open-minded observation, detached from a familiar framework. The instructions encourage visitors to pay attention to what stands out as well as what normally remains unnoticed.
“Looking is never a neutral act. It is something we learn. What we see is political, and politics reveals itself through the act of looking.”
Art is never neutral. Therefore I use my voice as an artist to speak out against the genocide that the state of Israël iscommitting in Gaza right now, in this moment. To the artists in Palestine who are not allowed to breathe, to speak, to fight or to create: we see you, we hear you. No freedom without you. Cease fire now.
