Detention center Herstelpunt is a place of connection, growth, and recovery—both literally and figuratively. The project offers young people an environment in which they can reflect, learn, and develop responsibility. By integrating recovery on multiple levels—social, personal, and material—a small-scale community is created in which everyone plays a meaningful role.

Various recovery points have been set up within the detention center, such as a cooking workshop, a vegetable garden, workshops, and a café. Young people work together, learn skills, and take care of people, animals, and the environment. Vegetables from the garden are used in the café, waste is recycled, and even coffee grounds are given a second life in soap. There is space for training assistance dogs, and local residents can come for affordable products or repairs.

Het Herstelpunt is een circulair en sociaal ecosysteem, dat niet alleen jongeren ondersteunt, maar ook de buurt doet opbloeien. Via samenwerking, upcycling en educatie stimuleert het detentiehuis een gevoel van verbondenheid, zingeving en maatschappelijke betrokkenheid.
