Hoe kan het thema ‘vibrato’ worden geïntegreerd binnen de huidige hobo-didactiek? Dit is de vraag die ik mijzelf heb gesteld. Vibrato is een artistiek expressiemiddel dat vrijwel elke professionele muzikant gebruikt. Als beginnende hobo-leraar was het mijn doel om een effectieve methode te vinden om vibrato aan te leren aan mijn toekomstige studenten. Daarnaast wilde ik mij als professionele muzikant verdiepen in de uitvoeringspraktijk van het vibrato binnen het hobo-repertoire. Voor het theoretische gedeelte heb ik me voornamelijk gericht op bronnen, zowel geschreven als auditief en visueel. Ook heb ik andere hobo-leraren geraadpleegd om inzicht te krijgen in de methoden die momenteel worden gebruikt in de hobodidactiek. Ten slotte heb ik een stappenplan ontwikkeld en toegepast tijdens praktijkonderzoek binnen mijn hobolessen in het deeltijds kunstonderwijs. Dit alles zou mij een juist beeld moeten geven hoe ik het thema ‘vibrato’ kan implementeren binnen mijn didactiek.

How can the topic of vibrato be integrated within current oboe didactics? This is the question I asked myself. Vibrato is an artistic means of expression that virtually every professional musician uses. As a beginning oboe teacher, my goal was to find an effective method of teaching vibrato to my future students. In addition, as a professional musician, I wanted to delve into the performance practice of vibrato within the oboe repertoire. For the theoretical part, I focused mainly on sources, written, aural and visual. I also consulted other oboe teachers to gain insight into the methods currently used in oboe didactics. Finally, I developed and applied a roadmap during practical research within my oboe lessons in part-time art education. All of this should give me an accurate picture of how to implement the topic of vibrato within my didactics.
