Liminal Space
De Liminal Space is een mentale overgangsruimte, een ondefinieerbare ruimte die zich buiten de bestaande tijd afspeelt.
Binnen dit project hou ik een kaart bij van wat die ruimte voor mij kan betekenen. Dit doe ik door schetsboeken bij te houden, tekeningen, monotypes, zeefdrukken, notities, contactafdrukken, schilderijen en bariet prints. Ik ben het grafisch medium gaan gebruiken als manier van documenteren.
Ik kijk contextloos naar de wereld, ik verbind de losse flarden aan informatie met elkaar door ze te accentueren en ze keer op keer opnieuw te bezoeken.
De locaties en objecten die ik opzoek zijn volledig alien in deze wereld, hun oorspronkelijk doel is volledig spoorloos.
Binnen mijn werk is het gegeven van herhaling een zeer belangrijk element om mijn werk te begrijpen. Ik keer verschillende keren naar dezelfde plaatsen terug, die veranderen van dag tot dag, doorheen de seizoenen, dag en nacht. Het gebruik van de verschillende media komt hier naar voor in de zin dat geen enkele vorm van media de aard en essentie van een plaats of object kan vatten. De observer krijgt alle vrijheid om zelf linken te leggen tussen mijn verschillende realiteiten.

Liminal Space
The Liminal Space is a mental transitional space, an indefinable space that takes place outside the existing time.
Within this project I keep a map of what that space means to me. I do this on the basis of sketchbooks, drawings, monotypes, screen prints, notes, contact prints, paintings and archival prints. I started to use the graphic medium as a way of documenting.
I look at the world without context, I connect the loose fragments of information with each other by accentuating them and revisiting them again and again.
The locations and objects I am looking for are completely alien in this world, their original purpose is completely without trace.
Within my work, repetition is a very important element to understand my work. I return to the same places several times, these change from day to day, through the seasons, day and night. The use of the different media emerges here in the sense that no form of media can grasp the nature, essence and character of a place or object.
The observer is given complete freedom to make links between my different realities.
