’48 uren onderweg’ is ontstaan uit een samenwerking tussen studente Educatieve Master Beeldende Kunsten Suzanne De Jaegher en kunstenaar Klaus Compagnie uit Kunstwerkplaats De Zandberg. Het project valt binnen Suzanne haar masterproef waarin ze de vraag stelt: “Hoe kan ik als artistiek begeleider de lerende motiveren om uit zijn of haar comfortzone te treden?”.

Klaus is al achtentwintig jaar actief als tekenaar en schilder. Samen met Suzanne richt hij in het project ‘48 uren onderweg’ op een driedimensionale aanpak. Ze werken daarbij verder op Klaus eerdere tekeningen rond het maagdarmstelsel. Het resultaat: imposante beeldhouwwerken uit papier-maché.

’48 hours on the road’ arose from a collaboration between Suzanne De Jaegher, student of the Educational Master of Fine Arts, and Klaus Compagnie, artist at De Zandberg. The project falls within Suzanne’s master’s thesis in which she poses the question: “How can I, as an artistic supervisor, motivate the learner to step out of his or her comfort zone?”.
Klaus has been active as a illustrator and painter for twenty-eight years. Together with Suzanne, he focuses on a three-dimensional approach in the project ’48 hours on the road’. They continue to work on Klaus’ earlier drawings about the gastrointestinal system. The result: imposing papier-mâché sculptures.
