Nathan Ooms & Anna Franziska Jäger, Some Things Last A Long Time

Op scène verschijnen twee figuren aan de oppervlakte. Ze ondervinden het genot en de dreiging van een eindeloos opnieuw. Hun gebaren suggereren een onophoudelijke voltrekking van een catastrofe. Maurice Blanchot: “The disaster ruins everything, all the while leaving everything intact”.

Deze voorstelling is de tweede samenwerking tussen Anna Franziska Jäger en Nathan Ooms. Ze onderzochten wat het betekent om met het menselijk lichaam als maat je tot abstracties te verhouden. Hierbij botsen ze telkens opnieuw op de grenzen van representatie. Ze geloven in de voortdurende herontdekking van het theater als een plek waar er ‘getoverd’ wordt, waar het afwezige tot het aanwezige wordt gemaakt en omgekeerd.

On stage, two figures appear on the surface. They experience the pleasure and the threat of an endless repetition. Their gestures suggest an incessant realisation of a catastrophe. Maurice Blanchot: “The disaster ruins everything, all the while leaving everything intact”.

This performance is the second collaboration between Anna Franziska Jäger and Nathan Ooms. They explored different relations to abstractions by means of the human body . Time and again they collide with the limits of representation. They believe in the constant rediscovery of the theatre as a place of ‘magic’, where the absent is made into the present and vice versa.
