Maya Lafere (°1988) & Ashley Anjuyn (°1990)

‘Huid’ is een participatief project waarbij Maya Lafere samen met Ashley Anjuyn nieuw beeldmateriaal als inspiratiebron exploreert. Zij werkten samen rond het thema ‘Huid’, een eeuwenoud thema in de schilderkunst.

Onze huid is een huis; de plek waarin we wonen, waar we elkaar ontmoeten en aanraken.

Door samen te schilderen binnen het project vervaagt het onderscheid tussen een kunstenaar met en zonder beperking.

Het werd een één-opéénwerking. Ze onderzochten het thema vanuit hun eigen leefwereld en keken met een kritische blik naar elkaars werk. Het uitdagen van elkaar op artistiek vlak stond centraal.

Het project werd uitgewerkt met de steun van ‘Arts in Society Award’, De Zandberg en School of Arts, K.A.S.K.

‘Arts in Society Award’ is een project dat kunstenaars wil stimuleren om een participatief kunstproject te ontwikkelen dat inspeelt op maatschappelijke uitdagingen.

‘Skin’ is a participatory project in which Maya Lafere and Ashley Anjuyn explore new visual material as source of inspiration. They worked together around the topic ‘Skin’, an ancient theme in painting.

Our skin is our home; the place where we live, meet and touch each other.

By painting together in this project, the distinction between the artist with and the artist without disabilities becomes blurred.

In the project, they worked one on one. They researched the theme from their own lifeworld and looked at each other’s work with a critical gaze. Challenging each other artistically was central to the project.

The project was supported by the ‘Arts in Society Award’, De Zandberg and School of Arts, K.A.S.K.
