Matthias Verheirstraeten, Strijkkwartet

As a luthier it is an honour, and an accomplishment to make a string quartet. It’s a perfect time to do so during your master.
During this time, Matthias took the opportunity to go on erasmus to Poznan. Here he made the viola, under the supervision of violinmaker Honorata Stalmierska. The cello and the two violins where made under the supervision of Geerten Verberkmoes, Andreas Korczak and Francis Ponseele.
The quartet consists of copies of instruments, all made by the Silvestre family in between 1835 and 1889.
He reunited the makers from this family, in one quartet.
