BEAD THE SYSTEM is de conceptstore voor Haute Couture ontwerper Kevin Germanier. De conceptstore bevindt zich in de oude stookplaats in Antwerpen.

De aanpak van Germanier kan de wereld veranderen door “afval” om te vormen tot draagbare kunstwerken. Dit doet hij door upcycling van kralen, veren, pailletten, etc. Zijn manier van werken komt voort uit de financiële moeilijkheden die hij ondervond tijdens zijn studies. Met behulp van oude lakens vond hij een manier to BEAD THE SYSTEM.

Centraal in de ruimte neemt een organisch volume zijn plaats in. De vorm is geïnspireerd op een combinatie van cilindervormige kralen. In het volume bevinden zich het atelier en de klantenzone. Hierin krijgen klanten de volledige ervaring, van besprekingen tot passessies en de ontwerpuitvoering.

Rondom het volume worden de bezoekers geleid door de galerij via de trappen Deze weg rondom het volume toont de werken van Germanier op een speelse manier.

De minimalistische ruimte in combinatie met een volledig wit kleurenpalet benadrukt het contrast met de felgekleurde kledij van Germanier.

BEAD THE SYSTEM is the concept store for Haute Couture designer Kevin Germanier. The concept store is located in the old boiler house in Antwerp.

Germanier’s approach can change the world by transforming “waste” into wearable works of art. He does this by upcycling beads, feathers, sequins, etc. His way of working stems from the financial difficulties he experienced during his studies. Using old sheets, he found a way to BEAD THE SYSTEM.

An organic volume takes its place in the center of the space. The shape is inspired by a combination of cylindrical beads. The studio and the customer zone are located in the volume. Inside, clients get the full experience, from consultation to fitting sessions and the design execution.

Around the volume, visitors are led through the gallery through the stairs. This path around the volume shows Germanier’s works in a playful way.

The minimalist space in combination with a complete white color palette emphasizes the contrast with Germanier’s brightly colored clothing.
