Marieke Descheemaecker, '(T)huis' - 'Home | House'

FASE I

Zes participanten verzamelen foto’s die zij associëren met het concept ‘(T)huis’. Ze construeren ook een (blokken)-’(T)huis’. De foto’s en de constructie dienen als basis voor uitgebreide individuele gesprekken.

FASE II

Aan vier van de zes deelnemers wordt een interpretator gekoppeld. De interpretatoren krijgen ter voorbereiding van hun interpretatie al het materiaal van de participant waaraan ze zijn gekoppeld (verzamelde foto’s, foto’s van de constructie en audio-opnames van het gesprek). De participanten en interpretatoren ontmoeten elkaar echter nooit persoonlijk.

FASE III

De interpretatoren delen hun bedenkingen en ervaringen tijdens een lang, gefilmd groepsgesprek.

PHASE I

Six participants collect photos they associate with the concept of ‘Home/ House’. They also construct a ‘Home/ House’ (with blocks). The photos and the construction serve as the basis for extensive individual conversations.

PHASE II

Four of the six participants are paired with an interpreter. The interpreters receive all the material from the participant they are paired with (collected photos, photos of the construction, and audio recordings of the conversation) in preparation for their interpretation. However, the participants and interpreters never meet in person.

PHASE III

The interpreters share their thoughts and experiences during a lengthy, filmed group discussion.
