Laura-Line Demaeght, Katastrof

Voor mijn bachelorproef heb ik gekozen om de gegeven, leegstaande loods om te vormen tot een funky conceptstore. Ik koos de bestaande tweedehands zaak Katastrof.

Aan de hand van mijn concept “vlakken” ging ik aan de slag. De wanden stellen de vlakken voor die zorgen voor circulatie en ruimtes in mijn ontwerp.

Door verschillende materialen te gebruiken op deze wanden creëert dit nog meer de illusie van vlakken die elkaar doorsnijden.

Daarnaast moesten we ook een woning ontwerpen die aan het pand gelegen is. Ik heb de kleuren van de winkel meegetrokken tot in de woning.

For my bachelor’s thesis I chose to transform the vacant warehouse into a funky concept store. I chose the existing second-hand store Katastrof.

I got to work based on my concept of “surfaces”. The walls represent the surfaces that provide circulation and spaces in my design.

By using different materials on these walls, this further creates the illusion of planes intersecting each other.

We also had to design a home that is located next to the building. I brought the colors from the store into the home.
