Overal waar we kijken, vinden we de wiskundige formule van Fibonacci terug. Kijk maar in de natuur: slakkenhuizen, zonnebloemen,… Kijk verder dan onze aardbol: sterrenstelsels, universums… Wat zijn ‘features’ die terug komen? De spiraal van de gulden snede (de ‘Spiraal van Archimedes’) is gebaseerd op verhoudingen, aangeduid met de Griekse letter ‘phi’. Alles staat in balans en zorgt voor een harmonieuze spiraalvorm, die we ‘Phi-Ture’ noemen. In dit project komen verschillende interesses samen in één tijdelijke constructie: het universum, interieur en tijdelijke installaties. Gelokaliseerd in het natuurreservaat ‘Craters Of The Moon National Monument & Preserve’ in Idaho, US, bevindt zich een constructie die zich samensmelt met het buitenaardse decor. De kinetische façade en aluminium stellingen zorgen voor een combinatie van industriële stijl en futurisme. De constructie beschikt over vier B&B’s, een tentoonstellingsruimte, een snackbar en een platform met een 360° uitzicht over het landschap. “Mathematics is the language with which god has written the universe”– Galileo Galilei
Everywhere we look, we find Fibonacci’s mathematical formula. Just look in nature: snail shells, sunflowers,… Look beyond our globe: galaxies, universes… What are ‘features‘ that recur? The spiral of the golden ratio (Archimedes’ Spiral) is based on proportions, denoted by the Greek letter ‘phi‘. Everything is in balance and creates a harmonious spiral shape, which we call ‘Phi-Ture‘. In this project, different interests come together in one temporary construction: the universe, interiors and temporary installations. Localised in the ‘Craters Of The Moon National Monument & Preserve‘ nature reserve in Idaho, US, is a construction that merges with the alien setting. The kinetic façade and aluminium scaffolding combine industrial style and futurism.
