Julie Enghien, Nieuw leven voor FNO

Voor mijn eindwerk “Nieuw leven voor FNO” voerde ik onderzoek naar de nieuwe bestemming van de FNO site te Gent. Ik koos een toenmalige opslagloods als gebouw en ging op zoek naar een geschikt programma in relatie tot de wijk en de omgeving van het gebouw.

Het Programma werd een vrijetijdscentrum met verschillende polyvalente ruimtes en horecafuncties. De oorspronkelijk gesloten gevel werd selectief opengewerkt om licht binnen te trekken en een sterkere relatie tot het park te garanderen.

For my graduation project “New life for FNO” I conducted research with regard to the redestination of the Ghent FNO site. I chose a former storage shed as my building and looked for a suitable program in relation to the neighborhood and the surroundings.

I ended up designing a leisure center with various multipurpose spaces and catering functions. The facade, which was originally closed, was selectively opened up to draw in light and ensure a stronger relationship to the park.
