Joseph Khoury, Aangespoelden

I recently became aware of the word: “Aangespoelden”. Being an immigrant myself it really hit – I felt identified by it. But it is usually used here, for people who are not originally from Gent, but ended living here. It literally means “Washed Ashore”.

It hit because I consider myself an immigrant! My final year project for “Digital Storytelling” is about this topic. My integration process in a new society as an immigrant! A retrospective study that will shape my future.
