Floris Rotsaert, Ontwerp van een commerciële ruimte met bovenliggend appartement

Dit project omvat het ontwerp van een commerciële ruimte met bovenliggend appartement. Het pand is gelegen op de hoek van de Langemunt en de Hoogpoort in Gent. De locatie op de Groentenmarkt maakt dit een uitstekend commercieel pand met een grote visibiliteit. In het gebouw was jarenlang een juwelierszaak gevestigd, maar die moet nu plaatsmaken voor een opticien. Het merk AHLEM Eyewear vestigt een flagshipstore. De twee bouwlagen van de opticien omvatten voldoende ruimte om de verschillende monturen in alle rust te passen, een oogmeting te laten uitvoeren en om in-house de glazen te slijpen. Het interieur contrasteert duidelijk met de klassieke, beschermde gevel. Binnenin de winkel is er een zee van ruimte en licht. Dit in combinatie met de monolithische materiaalkeuzes zorgen voor een high-end beleving. Deze beleving gaat hand in hand met de kwaliteit van de armaturen en service waarvoor AHLEM garant staat. Boven deze winkelruimte bevindt zich het appartement. Dit appartement met één slaapkamer werd met dezelfde finesse ontworpen. Er werd tijd genomen om alle details doordacht uit te werken tot een geheel dat zorgt voor ruimtelijke rust. Zowel de winkel als het appartement stralen ware exclusiviteit uit.

This project consists of the design of a commercial space with an apartment on top. The property is located on the corner of Langemunt and Hoogpoort in Ghent. Its location on the Groentenmarkt makes this an excellent commercial property with great visibility. For many years the building was home to a jewelry store, but it now has to make way for an optician. The AHLEM Eyewear brand is establishing a flagship store. The two floors of the optician comprise sufficient space to try on the various frames in comfort, to have an eye measurement taken and to cut the lenses in-house. The interior clearly contrasts with the classic, protected facade. Inside the store there is a sea of space and light. Combined with the monolithic material choices this creates a high-end experience, which goes hand in hand with the quality of fixtures and service that AHLEM guarantees. Above this retail space is the apartment. This one bedroom apartment was designed with the same finesse. Time was taken to thoughtfully work out all the details to a whole that provides spatial tranquility. Both the store and the apartment radiate true exclusivity.
