Wat zijn de grenzen van de schilderkunst? Wat zijn de mogelijkheden omtrent het uitbreiden van de schilderkunst naar een 3^e dimensie? Een schilderij kan omvangrijker zijn dan slechts een canvas opgehangen aan de muur. Een werk dat zich losrukt van de muur en een tactiele ruimtelijkheid belichaamt. Het kan een gehele ruimte omvatten. Dat is waar mijn praktijk naar streeft. Een schilderij waar de kijker letterlijk in kan binnendringen. Het werk dat niet zomaar een relatie aangaat met zijn omgeving, dan wel zelf een ruimte is.

What are the limits of painting? What are the possibilities with regard to extending it to the 3rd dimension? A painting can be more substantial than a mere canvas on the wall. A work that detaches itself from the wall and embodies a tactile spatiality. It can encompass an entire space. That is what my practice aims for. A painting which the viewer can literally step into. A work that is not simply related to its surroundings, but is in fact the space itself.
