Our modern technological reality creates both a state of hyper-connection and a potential sense of overwhelm and isolation. The mycelium, a decentralised network that connects the roots of trees underground, enabling them to communicate, is juxtaposed with our digital mode of communication. The mycelium is used as an analogy in my film to examine both the ecology of my own life and a general trend. Everything is connected to everything else, in a variety of ways; my film is an exploration of how.

Through associative montage, the film attempts to generate a meaning that transcends the sequences and prompts the viewer to reflect on the ecology of their own life. To realise how seeking closeness whilst in a state of distance has become the norm.
