Anke Merckx, Stemmen in bloei

NL – Stemmen in bloei is een poëtische documentaire over Villa Voortman, een ontmoetingsplaats in Gent voor mensen met een dubbeldiagnose. De film volgt drie bezoekers Edith, Henk en Jan-Willem en biedt hen de tijd en ruimte om zichzelf artistiek uit te drukken in hun eigen stem, melodie en ritme, gezien muzikaliteit centraal staat in de werking van de Villa. In de schaduw van een prachtige boom weerklinkt muziek van alle soorten.

EN – Blossoming Voices is a poetic documentary portrait about Villa Voortman, a meeting place in Belgium for people with a dual diagnosis. The film follows regular visitors Edith, Henk and Jan-Willem, giving them time and space to express their voice, pace and rhythm, as music is a cornerstone of the center’s philosophy. In the shadow of a beautiful tree, music of many roots and branches arises from the villa.
