Amélie Van Cauwenberghe, STEIGERDOEK

Wat begon als een voorliefde voor duurzaamheid, architectuur en het doek, vormde om tot een ruimtelijke opstelling die een verhaal van hergebruik en innovatie verteld.

Deze installatie is het resultaat van een materialenonderzoek met het steigerdoek als onderwerp. Het weefsel, de transparantie en inzetbaarheid zijn enkele van de onderzochte thema’s. Om deze vele facetten te tonen worden ze gekaderd in de vorm van geïntegreerd meubilair.

In de installatie zit onder meer een zitobject, verlichting en een opbergmeubel. Zo bevindt STEIGERDOEK zich op de grens tussen design, architectuur en kunst en laat de maker zich dus ook niet zomaar in een hokje duwen.

What began as a love of sustainability, architecture and the canvas, morphed into a spatial arrangement that tells a story of reuse and innovation.

This installation is the result of a materials research with the scaffolding fabric as subject. The fabric, transparency and usability are some of the themes studied. To show these many facets, they are framed in the form of integrated furniture.

The installation includes a seating object, lighting and a storage unit. STEIGERDOEK thus finds itself on the border between design, architecture and art, and its maker is not easily pigeonholed.
