Dit concept biedt een oplossing voor de huisvestingsproblematiek onder studenten in steden zoals Gent. Het modulaire, drijvende systeem is ontworpen voor herconfiguratie op basis van de behoeften en de locatie, bijvoorbeeld het Houtdok in Gent. Het systeem bestaat uit pontons met een unieke vorm die in verschillende posities kunnen worden geplaatst, waardoor diverse composities mogelijk zijn.

Elke woonunit is een vijfhoek, passend bij de pontonvorm. De units zijn verbonden met elkaar en kunnen gemeenschappelijke ruimtes zoals keukens, zitplekken, ontspanningsruimtes en badkamers bevatten. Dankzij de verplaatsbare muren kunnen bewoners de positie van ramen en deuren aanpassen, wat voor meer opties zorgt.

Bovenop de koten zijn planten aangebracht om de omgeving levendiger te maken. Een mezzanine, gebaseerd op de pontonvorm, biedt extra ontmoetings- en ontspanningsruimtes. Een modulair aanpasbaar net omhult het geheel, waardoor het lijkt op een drijvend eiland. Dit ontwerp biedt een flexibele en duurzame oplossing voor het tekort aan studentenkamers.

This concept offers a solution to the housing problem among students in cities such as Ghent. The modular, floating system is designed for reconfiguration based on needs and location, for example the Houtdok in Ghent. The system consists of pontoons with a unique shape that can be placed in different positions, allowing for various compositions.

Each residential unit is a pentagon, matching the pontoon shape. The units are connected to each other and can contain communal areas such as kitchens, seating areas, relaxation areas and bathrooms. Moveable walls allow residents to adjust the position of windows and doors, providing more options.

Plants have been added on top of the residencies to make the environment more lively. A mezzanine, based on the pontoon shape, provides additional meeting and relaxation spaces. A modular adaptable net envelops the whole, making it look like a floating island. This design offers a flexible and sustainable solution to the shortage of student rooms.
